The Department of Homeland Security's chief information security officer landed a new job in the private sector. Hemant Baidwan, who served as the DHS CISO for the last two years, has taken a new job with a government contractor. He is now the executive chief information security officer for Knox Systems. The company provides a platform for vendors to deploy software-as-a-service on a secure cloud. Baidwan joined DHS in 2011 and worked his way up to be its CISO. During his time in that lead cyber role, Baidwan oversaw the agency's implementation of zero trust, launched the Hack DHS vulnerability disclosure program and developed the Unified Cybersecurity Maturity Model to improve enterprise risk visibility.
